Today would be John Lennon's 65th birthday, if I'm not mistaken. Its a very special John Lennon's Birthday for me, because my band, The Drafted, has the Track of the Day on garageband.com's punk page today. Its an anti-war/anti-Bush song called "1,000 Dead", our most angry political song that we have so far--definately a song with a message that Lennon would be behind today if he were still with us.

While I love "Imagine", of course, on an ideological level I prefer "Working Class Hero" from the Plastic Ono Band album:

It's performed with just guitar and vocals. Actually, the whole album is stripped down and stark, kind of an exposition of John's soul. You should check it out, if only for the song "God."
Excellent lyrics, I'll definately have to check out that album.
